The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) will devote the first 2 days of the upcoming Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Spring Summer 2017 to the power of Indian handlooms and textiles.
Anavila’s “When We Look Back Tomorrow”, exhibits an timeless collection which every woman would want to get back to, even after many years. Anavila introduced the sari brigade back to the ramp and she did it so gracefully! White being one of the most predominant shade, clubbed with kolhapuris and elegant top blouses, the collection was among the best exhibited on Day 2 of AIFW.
Anavila sarees will always be a sight for sore eyes. The linen collection was semi fluid and the patchwork and frayed hemline of the sarees added to the appealing details.
For this summer collection Anavila merged her favourite linens along with metallic, in mostly organic dyes of rustic whites, beige and greys. Monochrome, plaids and a little variant in the form of breezy jumpsuits, light jackets and cropped trousers was seen too.
Bringing her signature saris with non-traditional drapes, this time the drapes offer much more movement and ease. The boxy blouses enhanced the chic quotient.
Braided hairdo and Maybelline make-up finished the look for the designer.
Anavila’s collection of linen sarees in neutral colors was dreamy as usual. What stood out were the patchwork petticoats with pockets and frayed hems. Simple, sustainable and stunning: these are the best words to explain Anavila’s show and the collection.
