Designer duo Ashima-Leena exhibited their love for floral prints at the 28th edition of the on-going Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Spring-Summer 2017. Titled ‘Romance of the Florals‘, the collection was a blend of soft fabric and pastel shades of pale blue and pink, with white lotuses and leafy greens blended on yellow and orange fabrics with hints of shimmer.
Breezy romanticism came alive with the details inspired by cascading florals along with a combination of eastern and western influenced silhouettes which set the undertone for the outfits.
Presented in hues of apple green, slate and lavender motifs of exotic birds and lotus buds presented the required femininity that is identifiable for that elusive, elegant mix categorized as Ashima Leena’s characteristic.
The duo attempted to paint the shades of spring onto the designs making use of sheer drapes and lots of transparency of georgettes and chiffons, and using Swarovski crystals for the bling. Models clad in crop tops, high waist trousers, off shoulder tops, skirts and shorts, walked the ramp with simple hats and big sun glasses.
If we speak about sarees, the duo integrated ruffles as borders for breezy flow. The mood of the crowd was set with soothing rhythms.
Pinpricks of Swarovski crystals on collars and necklines and motifs of spectacular birds and lotus blossom is visible through the entire collection.
Innocence is met with a lingering sensuality, representing the complicated nature of modern day modern woman, describes exactly what Ashima-Leena Collection is about.
