Actress Saiyami Kher, who will be soon seen in filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s film Mirzya, made her debut on the runway in a ‘Scape Song’ creation by ace designer Gaurav Gupta on the fourth day of the FDCI India Couture Week (ICW) 2016.
With her frizzy hair brushed to one side, Saiyami sashayed down the ramp on Saturday in a pastel blue and silver outfit with ruffles, from Gupta’s collection titled Scape song, and a glittery eye make-up.
Exploring unique silhouettes combined with a lot of drapes along with smart design, the multi-layered high waist skirts, vintage silhouettes with a contemporary twist, made the collection standout.
It was an combination of various layers, ruffles and classic colours like grey, green, brown, pastel hues of blue, white and powder pink.
“The collection sends a global message that India is very much a part of the globe and is the leading global country. It’s a statement collection of contemporary, pretty much futuristic new Indian wear. All of us are well travelled global citizens, but at the same time we enjoy the Indian-ness, ” said Gupta.
The whole range of collection dazzles with Swarovski effect. The sophisticated embroidery and off-shoulder once again appeal all of us. The running motif of the collection were waves, frozen in time. Everything from pearls and tassels to crystals had been used to make them sparkle. This collection shall be ideal for bride with a fiercely modern, global aesthetic.
Gaurav has designed this collection bearing in mind the style and elegance of bride-to-be. The modern-age birdes-to-be are young and fresh. They like anything that is unique and this collection fits the bill.
Ace Fashion designers Manav Gangwani and Rohit Bal shall be exhibiting their newest collection on the 5th day of the ICW 2016 on Sunday.
