The much awaited and fashion show of the India, Lakme Fashion Week 2016 has commenced on Tuesday.
The very first day of this grand event spotted ace fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani showcasing his collections. But what captured every one’s interest at the event was Tahiliani’s show stopper.
Bollywood queen Kangana Ranaut had become Tarun’s muse at the LAKME FASHION WEEK 2016 and seemed like a true fashionista.
Kangana Ranaut has over and over again shown her credentials as a Fashion Diva. The actress turned showstopper for ace designer Tarun Tahiliani on day One of the on-going Lakme Fashion Week 2016. She appeared as if a sheer empress as she sashayed down the ramp in a black silk skirt paired with an embroidered jacket.
Kangan’s contemporary-styled outfit was very well complemented with her curly updo and she was certainly turning the heat on as she walked down the runway.
Tarun Tahiliani, in his collection this season, has tried out lots of colours and embelleshment work and the outcome has been fantastic. His dresses will definitely fit into your winter wardrobe.

The fabrics used were light, simple comfortable. Tarun believes that if you are not able to go through the whole night in your ensemble, do not wear it. His collection is perfect for modern day busy, no-nonsense girl who loves comfort and style. The materials used were mostly jersey and textures in chanderi, soft net, Italian tulle, crepe georgette, micro pleated tulle and heavy crepe georgette.
Tarun used colors from the fall, he used deep hues such as ravishing red, cobalt blue, charcoal, olive and rust.
He exhibited mainly kurtas, kaftans, tunics, gilets, concept saris and shift dresses.
Fringing was huge in his designs, from hemlines and sleeves to shoulders, tassels and fringes seemed to be on most of the pieces. To keep the outfit light-weight yet play with abstract styles Tarun used graphic designs and shading to create a 3D feel to flat digital printing.
Tarun used drapes which include cascades, cowl drapes and capes that gracefully flowed with the outfits.
Held at St. Regis here, the event will see the contribution of 92 designers, having 15 sponsors supporting a few of the major shows that is going to feature the works of recognized as well as promising names.
Surprisingly, it is also revealed that soon-to-be mommy Kareena Kapoor Khan will also walk the ramp for ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee at his much-awaited grand finale at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2016.
