The stage at the Lakme Fashion Week was getting hotter and spicier with one celebrity after the other walking for ace fashion designer. Famous for her Indian outfits, designer Ridhi Mehra opted Barfi star Ileana D’Cruz to be her showstopper for the Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2016. Ileana appeared absolutely stunning in a wedding lehenga. A low neckline blouse paired with a sheer dupatta and long floor length chiffon embroidered cape were the few features of showstopper outfit.
Creating a magical look called ‘Arcadia’ Ridhi Mehra discovered a fashion fantasy in shades of teal green but balanced with navy, eggplant, aged Cabernet pink, ivory and black.
The designer’s collection was energized with indo-western vibes, combining ghararas with short tops as well as gowns with gold embelleshment. Although design and style was the star of this collection, we felt that the gold embroidery got a little recurring as the show progressed.
Ridhi Mehra keeps it simple and trendy with Arcadia, where floral motifs and classic fountains provide motivation. Superb embroideries, laser cutwork and applique cover draped silhouettes and off- shoulder outfits. With shades ranging from teal and navy blue to eggplant and aged Cabernet, Mehra steps away from the regular and adds a modern touch to her collection.
Best parts of the collection were the bomber sleeves, seductive Grecian drapes and also off-shoulder creations. A smartly pleated belted maxi skirt was edged with lovely floral embellishments on the hem.
Ridhi’s accessories were the perfect complement for the outfits as she displayed elegant adorned clutches, chokers and included embroidered stiletto pumps from ‘The Shoe Garage’.
Overall, the collection is really a perfect bridal couture option for Indian bridesmaids this season. Mark this look for wedding season! Ileana’s fabulous smoked eye was outlined flawlessly with hints of shimmer. The rest of her face was retained simple to balance those intense eyes.
