Inspired by the Goddess of Wealth, the creations were a vision of prosperity, royalty and wealth. Gold played a dominant role in the design and style sensibilities for the garments as they glittered on the ramp. Using a festive colour palette, the fashion designer duo had rich shades of vermillion red, emerald, midnight blue, charcoal, earthy taupe and gorgeous rustic gold. The colours chosen by the designers were a vivid mix of bright vibrant hues, which engaged in a contemporary and modern form to focus on the beauty and brilliance of the collection.

The fabrics complimented the jewel tones of the colors as raw silk and splendid Chanderi had been the cornerstone of the festive wear. Bringing contemporary silhouettes with a touch of tradition, kimono jackets, overcoats and dramatically cut coats had a simple fluid look. Kurtas and tunics were cut crisply, while the separates offered superb match and mix choices. Placement embroidery in gentle thread and zardosi created exciting textures. Layers added to the glam quotient of the designs, which turned them into ideal festive options.

Although we loved the loose forms and the impressive treatment of the kimono, we wish Vineet had used a brighter color palette to focus on the zardosi work better.

Bringing the Indo-western flavour on the runway; the sleek pants with blouse and coat were superbly embellished. The belted lengthy coat over the green kurta was perfect fusion wear. The side-wrap sleeveless tunic, fluid trousers and sarees sometimes worn traditionally or with pants, added to the style quotient of the collection. Vibrant soft jackets over trousers, tunics, and checked maxi were fashionable festive additions. The very last charcoal asymmetric tie-up jacket over the red crushed lehenga contributed the show to a glamorous conclusion.

The hand-crafted appearance of the outfits further ensured that it had to be a hunt that will be expected by women during the festive months.

For outfits that mean festive appearance in the wardrobe, the ‘Lakshmi’ collection by Vineet Rahul shall be sizzling additions.
